On 19-20 September 2019, the 5th Heritage Forum of Central Europe - a cyclical event dedicated to the philosophy, management and protection of cultural heritage - will take place at the ICC in Krakow . The theme of this year's edition will be heritage and environmental relations.
Over the last two decades or so the links between heritage and environment, broadly understood as “that which surrounds”, have started to occupy a central position in the debate on human inheritance, both tangible and intangible. During the 5th Heritage Forum, researchers and specialists from dozens of countries will present over 60 papers on issues such as heritage and natural environment, anthropogenic, socio-cultural, cultural landscape, architecture and landscape, post-industrial landscape, landscape reconstruction or tourist geography. Plenary lectures will be presented by world-renowned researchers: prof. Gabriele Dolff-Bonekämper and prof. Carola Hein.
The audience interested in participating in the event will have the opportunity to listen to two open plenary lectures by eminent specialists from the Netherlands and Germany. Lectures are held in English.
On the occasion of the 450th anniversary of the Lublin Union,a special place during the 5th Heritage Forum will be devoted to Lithuania. The special guest of the event will be Dr. Kristína Sabaliauskaitė, a Lithuanian writer and art historian, author of the best-selling tetralogy of "Silva rerum", recognized by critics in Poland as "a real literary sensation from Lithuania."
Admission to two plenary lectures during the conference and meeting with Dr. Kristína Sabaliauskaitė is free.
