International Book Fair in Krakow is an event multifaceted and diverse: it offers presents offer Polish and foreign publications, workshops and panels dedicated to industry publishing and bookselling, as well as competitions and exhibitions.
Every year it welcomes almost 70 000 visitors, over 600 exhibitors from 20 countries, almost 800 authors and over 1 000 hours of accompanying program (meetings, literary happenings, theater performances, concerts held outside the fairgrounds).
Also, from October 21st to October 27th you can join Conrad Festival - the most important event in Poland dedicated to literature, a joint project organised by the City of Krakow, the Krakow Festival Office and the Tygodnik Powszechny Foundation. For almost a week, Krakow plays host to some of the most eminent figures of world literature and literary events are accompanied by screenings of films related to literature, exhibitions, concerts and lectures, constituting additional, non-literary contexts for the presented authors and literary works.This year’s Conrad Festival will ask critical questions regarding “pop”, which is considered the core of our current cultural and political experiences. The subsequent days of this year’s edition were given the following categories: Correctness, Popularity, Drive, Populism, Popculture, Panic, Demand.
