On April 3rd-4th a working meeting of experts on cultural heritage from the Visegrad Group was held at the International Cultural Centre in Cracow. It was attended by representatives of Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, Ministry of Culture of Slovakia and Hungarian Prime Minister's Office.
During the V4 Group experts meeting, the following issues were addressed: further cooperation in the field of cultural heritage, the 5th Heritage Forum of Central Europe "HERITAGE AND ENVIRONMENT" (scheduled for 19-20th September 2019 in Cracow), and upcoming summer school V4 Heritage Academy, to be held in Český Krumlov in July 2019.
V4 Heritage Academy is an international summer training programme, addressed to the staff of conservation and preservation services as well as institutions of culture and non-governmental institutions involved in the protection of heritage. Its primary objective is to exchange experiences and good practices in the field of management and preservation of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
The Heritage Forum of Central Europe is a cyclical, biennial event organised by the International Cultural Centre in Kraków. It is an interdisciplinary platform for meetings and the discussion of the relations between the past and the present informed by the broad understanding of heritage. The Kraków conference is the voice of Central Europe on the philosophy, management, protection, economics, politics and social issues of cultural heritage. The Forum is organised under the auspices of the V4 Cultural Heritage Experts’ Working Group, comprising the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the Prime Minister’s Office Hungary, the Monuments Board of the Slovak Republic, and the International Cultural Centre in Kraków.
