"Years of Disarray: Art of the Avant-garde in Central Europe 1980–1928" is a guide for the exhibition presented at the ICC Gallery from 8 March to 9 June 2019. It can also be treated as a separate publication on the specificity of Central European avant-garde art of the 1st half of the 20th century.

The book is divided into 12 chapters dedicated to Central European Cubism, Constructivism, and the theory of Unism, the artists’ reaction to and involvement in World War I, the modern fascination with the city, and avant-garde typography, among others. This survey is complemented by maps that show Central Europe before and after World War I, as well as by chronology of major events in avant-garde art in the early 20th century.

The book features high-quality reproductions of works by more than a hundred avant-garde artists such as Henryk Berlewi, Sándor Bortnyik, Victor Brauner, Josef Čapek, Avgust Černigoj, Leon Chwistek, Tytus Czyżewski, El Lissitzky, Ľudovít Fulla, Otto Gutfreund, Marcel Iancu, Anton Jasusch, Lajos Kassák, Katarzyna Kobro, Jaromír Krejcar, Eugen Krón, Bohumil Kubišta, František Kupka, Tadeusz Makowski, Rafał Malczewski, László Mednyánszky, Ljubomir Micić, László Moholy-Nagy, Antonín Procházka, Géza Schiller, Henryk Stażewski, Władysław Strzemiński, Jindřich Štyrský, Sava Šumanović, Mieczysław Szczuka, Karel Teige, Toyen, Béla Uitz, Ilarie Voronca, Zygmunt Waliszewski, Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz (Witkacy), August Zamoyski, Teresa Żarnowerówna, Jan Zrzavý.
